merging/emerging


For the past 10-12 years, I have focused my art interests on photography. Lately I have had the urge to move away from picture taking to image creating.  For me this has meant exploring the areas of mixed media and encaustic art. By merging my photography, or bits of my photography into collage, including found objects or snippets of nature, and blending them with the encaustic process of wax/resin, I am merging something known into the unknown.  What will emerge from this marriage, as with any other merger, is the mystery.  

Hopefully the whole will be greater than the sum of its parts.
